Baja Daisies

Hello All!

Here is another card we made for April's class.  I really love the In Colors that Stampin' Up! showcased this year.  I'm already beginning to miss them and they still have two and a half more months before they're gone!Baja Daisies-sm-cr  All supplies are © Stampin' Up!.  The card base is made using Pacific Point card stock.  It is such a gorgeous, intense color.  The stamp set used is Upsy Daisy, a very versatile set.  The butterfly is from the set, Flight of the Butterfly.  I hope to be using more of that set in the near future.  I used Sponge Daubers to ink the daisies stamp.  Turn your stamp so the rubber side is facing up on your work surface.  I started by inking a Sponge Dauber (love those) with Baja Breeze Classic ink and dabbing all the blooms.  Next I inked another Dauber with Pacific Point Classic Ink and randomly added some deeper color on some of the blossoms.  I used a Mellow Moss Stampin' Write Marker to color the stems.  You will have to "huff" on the stamp to remoisturize the ink before stamping.  I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock.  This is a terrific method of inking your stamps.  The butterfly is stamped in So Saffron Classic ink.  The greeting is from the set Hugs & Wishes.  I used Pacific Point ink, but stamped off once on a piece of scrap paper before stamping on the card stock.

Supplies

Stamps:  Upsy Daisy, Hugs & Wishes

Paper:  Pacific Point, So Saffron, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Just a reminder that the current In Colors will only be available through June 30, 2009.  If you are interested in any of the supplies used above, please contact me or visit my Demonstrator Website.  Have a great day!

Where Have I Been?

Hi Stampers!

Please forgive my absence this past month.  Three weeks ago I missed a step down outside by the pool.  I fell into the pool and hit my thigh on the way in breaking my left femur.  I had surgery and was hospitalized for four days. I have so much to be thankful for.  First, my dear husband was home and outside with me when this happened.  I did not hit my head.  The EMTs arrived within minutes and were kind and gentle. I've been working very hard with my physical therapist and have made tremendous progress.  I don't have a cast and I can place 50% of my weight on the broken leg.  As soon as that number increases (hopefully after my doctor's visit in two days), we will start to conquer the stairs up to my stamping studio...YAY!!!   I have not yet been able to indulge in creative pleasures because all my supplies are upstairs.  I'm hoping to get a few things downstairs this week and get my mojo working again.  In the meantime, I will try and get some photos of the amazing hand-crafted cards I've received.  Thank you for your understanding.

Easter Chick

Greetings to you all on this beautiful morning in Palm Coast, Florida.  I wish you a Happy Easter today!

Here is a fun and cute Easter card for a child or a child at heart.  My inspiration came from this card.   All supplies used are © Stampin' Up!®Easter 09-2-sm-cr.  This is an interactive card.  The top half of the egg shell pivots open and closed on a brad.  Isn't that fun?  The egg is cut from one of the Delicate Dots Designer Series Papers, using the Ovals Die and the Big Shot.  The stamp set is called A Good Egg.  I stamped the chick in Basic Black Classic Ink on Barely Banana paper and trimmed the top half of the little guy, since that was all that would be showing.  I colored his beak using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write marker.  The decorative band is stamped on Whisper White card stock with Basic Black ink.  The borders are colored with a Certainly Celery marker and the dots with a Bashful Blue marker.  I dabbed the dots with a 2-way Glue Pen and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I cut the egg in half and attached the band to the upper half.  The chick is glued behind the lower half and it's all attached to a piece of Whisper White card stock that has been layered with Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue card stocks.  A blue Soft Subtle brad is added through all layers, using a paper piercer and mat pad, to create the pivot point.  I used my Paper Snips to cut along a piece of Certainly Celery card stock to make some "grass".  A piece of Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon is wrapped around all the layers and tied in a knot.  Happy Easter is stamped in Basic Black before the focal image is added.  Stampin' Dimensionals adhere it to the card base.  You can't help but smile when you see this in person.  Not only is this a cute Easter card, but wouldn't it make a cute new baby card, too?  I hope you like it!  Please let me know what you think.  Your comment lets me know that someone is reading...LOL.  Thanks.

Quilted Greetings

Hi Stampers!

Here is my take on the quilt-inspired cards that have been appearing on numerous sites around cyberspace. If you feel you have been my inspirationApril Quilt Card-trimmed-sm-cr for this piece, please let me know and I will be more than happy to give you credit for the design.  All supplies are © Stampin' Up!®.  The card base is Almost Amethyst card stock. The next two layers are Whisper White and Pink Pirouette card stock.  The focal image uses the Tea Party Designer Series Paper cut into 1-1/4" squares, two from each pattern in the collection for a total of twelve.  I arranged the squares on a piece of 3-7/8" x 5" Whisper White card stock and when I was pleased with the layout, I glued each square down.  I used the Top Note Die and the Big Shot to die-cut this piece.  The Top Note Die makes the perforations around the outer edge.  Continuing with that design element, I used a Going Gray marker to faux stitch around each block. A piece of 5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon, from the new Occasions Mini Catalog, is wrapped around and tied in a knot.  "From the heart" is from the Holidays & Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray Classic Ink.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach this to the card base.  I have added a layer of Whisper White to the inside to display the sentiment. This is one of my April class cards and it gives everyone the opportunity to make their own individual layout.  It's the perfect birthday or Mother's Day card.  I hope you like it!  Please leave a comment and let me know how you like it.

Baby Thank You

Hi Stampers!

On March 20,2009 we became grandparents for the first time.  Our son, Sean, and daughter-in-law, Tracy, gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!  Sean, Tracy and James are all doing wonderfully and Steve and I are absolutely thrilled to be grandparents. Baby Thank you 1-sm-cr

Here's a little thank you card I made for myself to send out, because who knew that grandparents received gifts too! I used the Note Cards* from Stampin' Up! which are the perfect size for a hand written thank you note.  I stamped the boat from the stamp set, Nursery Necessities, twice using Bashful Blue classic ink, once on the actual card and once on a piece of scrap paper.  The star from the same set was stamped in Summer Sun classic ink.  I trimmed out the boat and sails and popped them up using Dimensionals right over the image stamped on the card.  I used the Scallop Edge punch and Bashful Blue and Whisper White card stock, punching along the top edges.  The Bashful Blue piece is positioned just under the bottom of the boat.  The Whisper White piece is also popped up with Dimensionals and layered to overlap the bottom of the boat.

There you have it!  It's cute and fast and easy.  All supplies used are © Stampin' Up!

Supplies:

Stamps:  Nursery Necessities

Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue

Ink:  Bashful Blue Classic Ink, Summer Sun Classic Ink

Accessories:  Scallop Edge Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips

*  The Note Cards measure 5" x 3.5" and come scored and ready to fold.  There are 20 cards and 20 envelopes in each package, Item #107311, for $5.95.  They are great to have on hand for a quick card or note and they are large enough to be mailed through the US Postal Service.  Visit my Demonstrator Website and see more of Stampin' Up!'s collections of note cards by clicking Shop Now in the upper right corner.

Eastern Blooms Tea Party

Hi Stampers!

I love sketch challenges and you can find them in lots of places.  This card is for MOJO78 found here. March Birthdays-sm-cr_edited-1 All supplies used are from Stampin' Up!  The base of the card uses Almost Amethyst card stock.  Next is layered Whisper White and then So Saffron.  I am using three of the Tea Party Designer Series Papers to layer on the So Saffron.  A beautiful new 5/8" White Satin Ribbon is wrapped around the layers and tied in a knot. This ribbon is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog and is available for purchase April 1st. The layers are then attached to the card base using SNAIL adhesive.  The triple flower stamp from Eastern Blooms is stamped on Whisper White card stock using So Saffron Classic ink.  This is layered on Almost Amethyst card stock.  I used a 1/8" circle punch to punch the centers of each flower and inserted Rhinestone Fire Circle Brads.  This element is attached using Dimensionals. There are several colors of Rhinestone Brads from both the Fire and Ice collections that will work with these colors.  How do you like it?  I love the soft colors used in the Tea Party DSP.  Let me know what you think.  Please leave a comment so I can get to know my visitors.

Shabby Blooms

Hi Stampers!

Here in Palm Coast, FL, Spring has arrived.  As you can see by this card and the one in the previous post, we are using the soft colors that coordinate with the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper from this year's Sale-a-Bration promotion.  This is the second card in the set we are making in this month's classes.  The layout comes from a card we made at the Orlando Regionals in January.  We are using stamps and Designer paper from the S-A-B catalog that you may earn for free, based on your purchases.BotBl-Deldot-small-cr

The card base is Sahara Sand, which has been stamped along the upper portion with the smaller petal stamp from Botanical Blooms and Versamark ink.  A strip of the Delicate Dots Designer Series paper has been punched along the bottom using the Scallop Edge punch.  A narrow strip of Bashful Blue card stock is layered beneath the top edge and two brads have been added before adhering to the card base.  A greeting from Sincere Salutations is stamped in Saraha Sand Classic ink on the lower portion.

The focal image uses Very Vanilla card stock layered with So Saffron card stock.  Both layers have been distressed using the Cutter Kit distressing tool.  The larger flower is inked in So Saffron Classic ink, stamped off and then stamped on the Very Vanilla several times in a random pattern.  The smaller bloom is inked in Bashful Blue, stamped off and stamped randomly.  The leaves are inked in Certainly Celery, stamped off and also stamped randomly filling in the space.  A 1/8" circle is punched in the top left corner.  A short piece of Bashful Blue Taffeta ribbon is threaded through and tied together using a piece of Linen Thread.  A  brad is added in the same hole.  This is attached to the card using Dimensionals.  I have layered a piece of Very Vanilla card stock on the inside for your sentiment or note and stamped the flowers and leaves in the same manner in the lower left corner. This card can be used for any occasion.  Why not make up a few of these without the greeting or sentiment to have ready to use?  When you need a card, simply add the appropriate greeting.  This is a very quick and easy card to put together.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Botanical Blooms, Sincere Salutations

Paper:  Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Delicate Dots Designer Paper

Ink:  Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand

Accessories:  Scallop Edge Punch, Cutter Kit, Dimensionals, 1/8" (ret.) and 1/16" Circle Punches, Soft Subtle Brads, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Linen Thread

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st!  It's a great time to stock up on supplies and earn Free product.  Please contact me if you have any questions.  All supplies used are available on my Demonstrator Website.  Watch for the third class card coming soon.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Come again soon.

Delicate Botanical Dots

Hi Stampers,

Here's a card we are making in this month's classes.  It is the first card in a set of three using Sale-A-Bration products.  This card uses the set Botanical Blooms and the Designer Series Paper Delicate Dots, both from the SAB catalog.SAB Bot. Blooms-small-cr The card base is Kraft cardstock.  I've used the stripes from the Delicate Dots DSP, adding a strip of Whisper White along the bottom that has been punched with the Scallop Edge punch.  A piece of the So Saffron 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon from the same SAB catalog is knotted and layered over the top edge of the designer paper.  The focal image is from the Botanical Blooms stamp set.  Two of the flowers are stamped in So Saffron and one in Bashful Blue Classic Inks on Whisper White cardstock.  The leaves are positioned using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped in Certainly Celery.  This set is a 2 step stamp set.  I stamped the detail outline first and then stamped the insides after stamping off once.  I've layered the image on So Saffron, then Bashful Blue cardstocks and attached to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The greeting is from the set Sincere Salutations and stamped using Sahara Sand Classic Ink.  This card has such a soft pretty look in real life.

Just Surfing

Hi Stampers!

Here's a quick and simple card using Stampin' Up!'s new set, Just Surfing.  This card was made for aDesign Challenge over on SUDSOL, a website for Demonstrators.SUDSOL DC#40 (Small)cr The Challenge is a sketch we are to follow.  I love the clean, crisp look this card has.  I started with a card base using one of this year's In Colors, Pacific Point.  A layer of Whisper White card stock is next.  The waves are stamped in Versamark and embossed using white embossing powder on the Pacific Point strip.  The surfboard is stamped on glossy white card stock in Pacific Point classic ink and trimmed close to the image.  Before adhering the trimmed image, I used Pacific Point ink to stamp waves across the white panel.  Then, the surfboard is attached using Dimensionals.  I used a 2-Way glue pen on the embossed waves and added Dazzling Diamonds glitter for some sparkle.  Surf's Up is stamped on Pacific Point card stock with Versamark and embossed in white.  I punched this out using the large oval punch and adhered with Dimensionals.  A layer of whisper White card stock, stamped along the bottom with the wave stamp in Pacific Point ink, is added to the inside for the sentiment.  All supplies used are © Stampin' Up!

Supplies:

Stamps:  Just Surfing

Paper:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Glossy White

Ink:  Pacific Point Classic Ink

Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Pemanent Adhesive
