Berry Blossoms Birthday

Hi Stamping Friends,

Here's a card I made for my friend's birthday.  I used the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper to inspire me.

The card base is Early Expresso card stock. The next layer is Whisper White card stock that has been embossed using the Big Shot and the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.

The lower portion has a piece from the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  This is adhered to the Whisper White piece.  I used the new Adorning Accents Edgelits from the Occasions Mini Catalog to die cut three strips of card stock in coordinating colors - Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade.  These are layered together with SNAIL Adhesive and attached over the edge of the DSP.  Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon is layered along the top edge and adhered to the back of the Whisper White card stock.  Use a generous amount of SNAIL to attach to the card front.  A small piece of the ribbon is slipped under and tied in a single knot. 

I added a few Jewels Basic Rhinestones  in several of the embossed circles for a little bling.

This is a fast and easy card to make.  I stamped my birthday greetings inside, added a little strip of the designer paper to jazz it up a little bit, and you have a wow birthday card.

Tea Shoppe Meets Framelits Labels Collection

Hi Stamping Friends,

Here's a card I made for two challenges - Try Stampin' On Tuesday Sketch #54 and the ColourQChallenge #125.  The Colour Q Challenges are a great place to stretch outside your color comfort zone. 

I've had the new Framelits Labels Collection Dies from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog for a while and finally brought them out and gave them a try. They are so much fun to use!  The challenge colors this week are Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade, Dusty Durango and Whisper White.  Dusty Durango retired several years ago, but I did have a few scraps and marker. 

The card base is Basic Gray card stock, as is the base layer of the Framelits Labels.  The next layer is Whisper White, embossed using the Perfct Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the Big Shot. 

Next comes a strip of Lucky Limeade designer paper from the In Colors Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack and Baja Breeze designer paper from the Subtles Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.  Now that was a mouthful!!  The Baja Breeze DSP has a piece of Dusty Durango card stock layered under the bottom edge that has been punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

The medallian is made using the three smallest sizes of the Framelits Dies...Basic Gray, Baja Breeze and Whisper White.  The Whisper White is stamped with a little floral sprig image from the stamp set, Tea Shoppe.  This set has so many awesome stamps in it, but I chose this little flower because it fits so nicely in the smallest label.  I colored the image using the Dusty Durango and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Markers.  Then, I used a Blender Pen to add a little more color.  The Basic Gray and Baja Breeze layers are SNAILed together and to the card front.  The image layer is attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Open Sea - LNS Weekly Challenge Card

Hope you're having a great Sunday.  We are having an exceptionally warm, very windy day here in Northern Florida.  After doing lots of paper work the past couple of weeks, I finally have some time to stamp today.  Here is a card I made for the weekly challenge over on Late Night Stampers.  It's a talented group of stampers that are always inspiring.  Check it out here.

I needed a masculine theme card and love the stamp set, The Open Sea. 

The card base is Naturals White.  The strip is a piece of Not Quite Navy card stock, layered with a strip of the Not Quite Navy Designer Series Paper from the Regals Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack.

The image is from The Open Sea and is stamped on Naturals White card stock in Not Quite Navy Classic Ink.  I used the Circle Scissors Plus and Circle Scissor Plus Glass Mat to cut out the circle after stamping the image.  This is layered on a slightly larger Not Quite Navy circle cut the same way.  The Real Red circle is punched using the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  This is attached to the card using SNAIL Adhesive.

The compass is from the same set and colored using Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red and Not Quite Navy.  I used Paper Snips (love these!) to trim close to the line, cutting off the N, S, E and W letters.  This is popped up on a Stampin' Dimensional.  I've included a clear block size below.  To use the larger stamp in the clear mount set you would need to get Clear Block "E".

Thinking of You... is from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set and is colored using the Real Red Marker. 

The clean and simple look can speak volumns sometimes, plus they're easy to reproduce at a moments notice.

I Dig You Valentine

Hi Stamping Friends,

My little grandsons LOVE trucks (I know, what little boys don't), so I knew I had to make a Valentine using this set.  I also used some colors from a previous ColourQChallenge.

The colors used are Crumb Cake for the base, layer 1 is Riding Hood Red, layer 2 is Whisper White.  The truck is colored in Old Olive and More Mustard.  The wheels are Basic Black.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color this stamp.  I stamped the truck on scrap paper and cut out the bed to pop up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped love (without the brackets) from Tiny Tags and punched using the Jewelry Tag Punch.  Hearts are die cut in Riding Hood Red using the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Silver Brads are added to the wheels.  I die-cut the smallest fashionable heart in Red Glimmer Paper. 

I Dig You is such a cute set for little boys and is available from the current Idea Book & Catalog.  The hearts and LOVE you at the top are from a set available through the Sale-A-Bration brochure called Sprinkled Expressions.  I used a Riding Hood Red Stampin' Write Marker to color just a portion.  This set is not available for purchase, but can be FREE with a $50 purchase before shipping and tax.  It has some awesome stamps in it.

Fresh Vintage Emboss Resist in Neutrals

Hi Stamping Friends,

Here's a card I made for a stamp set challenge over on SUDSOL.  The stamp set we were to use is called Fresh Vintage from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration catalog.

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock.  The next layer is Very Vanilla card stock that has been embossed using the Big Shot and the Framed Tulip Embossing Folder. (click on photo for a closer look).  I cut the focal image layer to fit inside the embossed frame. 

The floral image from this stamp set is stamped using Versamark.  Sprinkle White Stampin' Emboss Powder over image, tap off excess and heat it up with the Heat Tool until all the powder has melted and turned shiny.

Sponge over the embossed image using Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  Using a tissue or paper towel, wipe off embossed image to remove any excess ink.  Tape the layers to the card body.  That's it!  This card literally took 5 minutes to make and what a WOW statement it makes.
