Sweet Pea Circles

Hi Stampers,

Here's a card I made for a Chat & Challenge over on SUDSOL, a Demonstrator Business Group.  Stampin' Up! has a new Occasions Mini becoming available January 5th through April 30, 2010 and here's a little sneak peak of a fabulous new paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack. There are 2 sheets each of 24 double-sided papers in this stack!!  It will become available for purchase on January 5, 2010.

The card base is Sahara Sand card stock that has been embossed using the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texture Plate and Big Shot.

A strip of the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper is added.  The greeting is from the stamp set, On Your Birthday, and stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink on Whisper White Card stock.  I used the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker to add dots around this panel to mimic the dots on the DSP.

A strip of So Saffron Card stock was dry embossed using the Texture Plates Kit #4.  I am really loving using my Big Shot to dry emboss.  It adds so much to the cards.

The flower is made by punching circles using the 1-3/8", 1-1/4", 1" and 1/2" circle punches.  From large to small, the  card stock colors I used are Rose Red, Pretty In Pink. Melon Mamba and So Saffron.  A Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad is added to the center.  Mini Glue Dots attach it to the card body.  I used the Cutter Kit Distressing tool on the flower layers.

Here is the same card, minus the dry embossing, in a different color way, using Pretty In Pink for the base and Chocolate Chip for the strip.
