Hi Stampers,
I had a really busy week and no time to post. Today is the first day I've had time to do any stamping! I made this card for the Diva Coffee Break Design Color Challenge #144 found here. The Challenge is to use the colors Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum and Soft Suede. All supplies are © Stampin' Up!®. This combination is a little out of my comfort zone, but I like how it turned out. We all need to step out of our creative comfort zone sometime.
The card base uses Soft Suede card stock. This is followed by a layer of Bermuda Bay card stock. The next layer is also Soft Suede, but it has been dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Texture Plate - Daisies - from Texture Plate Kit #4. I'm not sure if you can see it, but it's a very subtle look in person. I layered a piece of the Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon. Later, I will add the knot.
The flower branch image is from the stamp set, Eastern Blooms. I used the Soft Suede, Pale Plum and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write markers to color the image and stamped on Whisper White card stock. Don't forget to "huff" on the stamp to add moisture back to any ink that has dried while you completed your coloring. The greeting is from the set, Teeny Tiny Wishes (I love this set), and is also colored with the Rich Razzleberry marker. This is layered on to Bermuda Bay and then, Pale Plum card stock. The bottom edge of the Pale Plum was torn to add interest. The image is attached to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. Now it's time to add your knot. Just slide a short piece of ribbon (about 4") under the other ribbon and tie a single knot.
The three flowers is another stamp from the Eastern Blooms set. These, too, were colored using the Stampin' Write markers in the Challenge colors of Bermuda Bay, Pale Plum and Rich Razzleberry and trimmed using Paper Snips. These are attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Participating in different challenges is a wonderful way to improve your creativity. You try colors, techniques and sketches you might never have tried. It's a lot of fun. If you are interested in trying some challenges, please leave a comment saying so and I will forward some sites to you.
