Hi Stampers,
Here are a couple of Post-it Note holders I made today. I don't know about you, but I am always looking for something to jot down a note when I'm out. This fits the bill perfectly! One is more of a summer theme and the other an autumn theme. First the summer...the base is made from Not Quite Navy Textured card stock. This is cut 4" x 7" and scored in 3-1/4" from each side to form a 1/2" spine to accommodate the Post-it note pad. Tempting Turquoise is layered with a print from the Flock Together Designer Series Paper. The flower from Best Wishes & More is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White in Tempting Turquoise ink and cut out. A silver button was added. The inside uses the same card stock and Designer Paper layers. Tempting Turquoise 1/4" grosgrain ribbon is attached using Sticky Strip to make ties for the holder. A small strip of Tempting Turquoise is wrapped around the pencil and attached using Sticky Strip as is the Post it Note pad. In my scrap box I found a cut out flower from Eastern Blooms stamp set that was stamped in So Saffron, a coordinating color for the Flock Together paper, so I added a 1/4" circle of the Tempting Turquoise and added it to he inside.
Stamps: Best Wishes & More (111602); Eastern Blooms (111626)
Paper: Not Quite Navy Textured card stock (108697 - Earth Elements Assortment); Tempting Turquoise (102067); Flock Together Designer Series Paper (114018); Whisper White (100730)
Ink: Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink (100814); So Saffron Classic Ink (105213)
Accessories: 1/4" Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon (109038); Sticky Strip (104294); Small Pencil; Post-it Note Pad; Button
The autumn themed holder starts with a base of Elegant Eggplant Textured card stock. This is cut the same as above. The layers are More Mustard card stock and a print from the Autumn Traditions Designer Series paper. These layers are repeated on the inside. The front is embellished using 1/2" circles punched from Elegant Eggplant card stock. Buttons are from the retired Earth Elements collection in More Mustard and threaded with Linen Thread. Since Always Artichoke is one of the coordinating colors of the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper, I used this color 1/4" grosgrain ribbon as ties.
Staples had 5-packs of the Post-it note pads in great color combinations and this one matches the More Mustard perfectly! You can buy the golf pencils at Staples, but you need to buy 144! I came home and cut some pencils in half and sharpened the end. They do have to be not longer than 3-1/4".
These make great favors or hostess gifts. Hope you like them. Except for the silver button (freebie from the Craft & Hobby Association show), all supplies used are Stampin' Up!
